Arterio-venous shunt (silk thread model) | Rat | BL 5 |
– An arterio-venous shunt is placed between the left jugular vein and the right carotid artery.
– After 20 min of extracorporeal blood circulation through the shunt, the blood flow is stopped. The wet weight of the thrombus is determined.
Both heparin and dabigatran exert their antithrombotic properties in the extracorporeal arterio-venous shunt (silk thread) rat model.
