Porsolt has long-standing extensive expertise in gastrointestinal efficacy pharmacology and safety. We provide models that focus on different gastrointestinal indications and on different parts of the gastrointestinal system. Porsolt also continues to develop and validate new and relevant models.

Additional models

Food allergies affect large numbers of people around the world. Mouse experimental models of food allergy to clinically relevant allergens could be helpful in providing information that is translatable to human studies, particularly in developing new treatments or identifying potential risks.

Mouse (female C57BL/6) peanut allergy model

Primary Observation (Irwin) Test and Clinical score (hypersensitivity reactions using a pre-defined scoring system) evaluated 30 minutes after the challenge

Monitoring of body temperature (before, and up to 24 hours after the challenge)

The strongly-sensitized mouse model can be used to assess the potential allergenicity of a protein, or a novel food, and to evaluate the efficacy of potential new treatments against peanut allergy.
In contrast, the weakly-sensitized mouse model may be used to evaluate interactions between novel foods and peanuts.
