PRIMARY NERVE CELL CULTURES

Based on more than 10-year of experience in the generation of tissue-specific rodent primary cell cultures, Porsolt offers to perform high-content screening in primary cultures of neurons and glial cells from the brain region of your choice. Highly predictive, primary nerve cell cultures are powerful tools to characterize neuroprotective and neurotoxic effects, and study the mechanism of action of neuroactive compounds.

PREDICTIVE IN VITRO CNS MODELS IN HIGH-THROUGHPUT FORMAT

Directly isolated from specific brain regions of embryonic or newborn rodents, primary neuronal cultures mimic in vivo conditions:

  • Various types of neurons and glial cells in mixed culture
  • Neuronal-glial networks formation
  • Expression of tissue-specific receptors

To combine high biological relevance with fast turnaround times, primary neuronal cultures are plated and grown in microplate format.
