We are uniquely placed to offer a full range of CNS efficacy and safety pharmacology assessments, from basic models and regulatory tests, through the evaluation of abuse and dependence liability and proconvulsant risk using EEG.

Quantified eeg in the rat

Evaluation of the pharmacological profile of a substance

 > Experimental protocol

- Animals implanted with cortical and /or hippocampal electrodes
- Recording sessions over 1 or 2 hours (Telemetry)
- Animals placed on a treadmill during recordings (vigilance - controlled conditions)
- Data acquired and analyzed using the EMKA Technologies software
- Spectral power analysis by frequency bands or by steps of 1 Hz

Sleep-wake cycle in the rat

Evaluation of circadian rhythm in the rat

> Experimental protocol
     - Animals implanted with cortical, hippocampal and muscle electrodes
     - Recording sessions over 12 or 23 hours (Telemetry)
     - Spectral power analysis

> Parameters measured
     - Latencies to the first occurrence of SWS and REM sleep
     - Time spent in SWS, REM sleep and wakefulness
     - Depth of SWS: ratio between alpha and delta spectral activity power
     - Proportion between total and active wake
